An event booth is a real inventory location
Products leave their normal storage, spend a day or weekend at a booth and may return. If everything continues to appear at the main location, someone can promise an item that is physically at the event. A transfer preserves company-wide quantity while making availability honest.
Before leaving, move packed quantities to the event location. Record sales against that location. Afterward, count the remainder and transfer back what actually returned.
A short opening and closing routine
Before opening:
- confirm packed products and quantities;
- record the transfer to the event;
- review prices and low-stock thresholds;
- confirm the phone is signed in and synchronized.
At closing, review sales, payments and expenses separately. A credit sale reduces merchandise even if payment is due later. Damage or loss needs an explained adjustment, not a fictional sale.
Plan for poor connectivity
Crowded venues can overload cellular and Wi-Fi networks. Offline-first mobile behavior lets supported work persist locally, but locally saved and server-synchronized are different states. Keep the device safe and connected later until pending operations are confirmed.
Capture enough detail without slowing the line
Set up products, units, barcodes and prices before the event. During sales, record only the data the business needs. Adding excessive categories at the booth creates friction; leaving all work until night creates omissions. A small, repeatable flow is more reliable than a perfect form nobody uses.
