Marketplace screens do not create a complete stock history
A reseller may list the same category of item in several places, source goods at different costs and pay channel or postage charges elsewhere. Messages and order screens show a customer interaction, but they do not necessarily provide one independent view of goods on hand.
Once an order is confirmed, recording it promptly reduces the chance of promising the same item again.
A simple manual workflow
- Record the product and acquisition cost when it enters the business.
- Keep the correct location if goods are split between home, storage and events.
- Confirm the order on the selling channel.
- Record the sale in Salelog.
- Record relevant operating expenses separately.
- Use the marketplace or courier for payment, postage and tracking.
This separation is honest: Salelog owns the operational record, whilst the external channel owns its transaction and fulfilment services.
Know when manual entry is no longer enough
To show a customer a selection, you can create a product catalogue and share its link with Plus or Pro. It displays photographs and optional prices in a browser. It does not create marketplace listings, accept orders or process payments.
At modest volume, one deliberate entry may be simpler than a complex integration. If hundreds of live listings must share one quantity instantly, automatic channel sync becomes a genuine core requirement. Choose software that provides it instead of treating delayed manual updates as real-time.
Selling-price difference is not net profit
Purchase cost, channel fee, packaging, postage, return, discount and unsold goods all influence the result. Use recorded inputs for operational comparison and formal accounts for the statutory view.
